ARI was found wandering around Yamba and was taken to the MacleanPound.
Ranger John tried very hard to find Ari's home, without success,so contacted Happy Paws Haven to see if we could take him as he wasa really nice dog.
Once all the vet work was done, we put him up on our internetsite and in The Daily Examiner. The response was overwhelming. Wespent a lot of time sending the questionnaire off to all interestedparties and sifting through all the replies. In the end we wentthrough the short list, interviewing by phone and reference checkingetc, and chose the Schefermann family, who live in the Hills nearAdelaide.
We organised Ari to be transported to Adelaide via Sydney withDogmovers and GTE transport.
We've had a few email updates..
We got Ari ... he is gorgeous. He passed out after a nice walkand lots of ball playing with Matthew. He enjoyed his dinner andsome doggie biscuits and looks very comfortable in his bed. I thinkhe is going to be happy here. Will keep you informed and I will sendsome photos.
Then a month ago we received more news:
I definitely owe you some news about Ari and I apologise for notwriting sooner.
Ari settled quickly and seems very happy. He and Matthew getalong just wonderfully and love playing together. Matthew sits on anold towel while Ari pulls him through the house, it's really funnyto watch. Ari has also learnt to play fetch now.
We take him to the beach and he loves it there, especially ifthere are no real waves, he goes into reverse when the waves come. One of his favourite things to do at the beach is to dig deep holesand then to lie in them. We have a doggy-beach not to far from us,where all dogs are allowed off the leash, so we take him there tosocialise.
He still sleeps in our room, but moved himself into our walk-in-robe, so we now put his bedding in there. During the day he isreally good. I once left two garbage bags full of rubbish outside, with the intention of putting them in the big bin, but completelyforgot to do so. I suppose I don't need to tell you what happened tothem while we were at work. I took a photo with my phone when I gothome and sent it to my husband. It looked like it snowed in our backgarden. I wasn't popular.
We are very, very happy with him and love him dearly. He has awonderful personality and loves our son, which is just what wewanted.
