Two more people in the Chicago area have died as a result of WestNile virus.
They were identified only as an 83-year-old man from the city'sfar Southeast Side who died Aug. 21 and a 92-year-old Morton Grovewoman who died Saturday.
Both had developed West Nile encephalitis. The man also sufferedfrom hypertension and diabetes, which might have contributed to hisdeath, the Illinois Department of Public Health said.
The latest deaths, announced Tuesday, raise to four the number ofpeople in Illinois who have died from the virus in this summer'soutbreak, the worst nationwide since the virus was found in theUnited States in 1999.
