Vic: Gosper denies pressure for Melbourne University place
MELBOURNE, Feb 21 AAP - Australia's most senior Olympics official Kevan Gosper todaydenied he had tried to influence Melbourne University into creating a place for his sonafter he failed to receive a first round offer.
Mr Gosper confirmed his wife had contacted the university before his son Richard wassubsequently offered a HECS place in his first preference course, but said the calls wereto discuss other issues.
Judy Gosper told The Age newspaper she had telephoned the university in order to confirmthat an arthritic condition suffered by her son had been taken into consideration.
